Welcome to takehold (LV)!
We are so thrilled to be up, running, and ready to start bringing you all of the latest!
For those of you wondering what this is, takehold (LV) is here to connect you with fellow climbers and products that we can agree are worth talking about! (LV) is curated by and focused around ladies in our sport, but in now way are we a girls only club! We love our dude compatriots, and would never want to kick them to the curb. Our spotlight may be set on telling the stories of ass kickin’ chicks, but gear reviews, training tricks, and on the road tips are universal!
Now to introduce myself, hi! I’m Alex, or @venomblackbird as you may know me on various social medias. I am the woman behind the curtain!
I’ve been climbing for nearly 6 years, working as a setter for almost 2, and camping/exploring for as long as I have memories. I started my “extreme” life out as a horseback rider back when I was 10. I spent a decade traveling the USA competing and, unbeknownst to me, dirtbagging from event to event. I hopped the fence from riding to climbing slowly throughout my early twenties, all while working as a horse shoer, photographer, model, part time jeweler, and I’m sure a few other odd things not coming to mind. In more recent times I’ve buckled down on climbing, and been lucky enough to team up with some rad companies, my main supporter being SoiLL. Like a lot of you, I spend my off time outdoors, in Southern California with my dog Ghost, bouldering and when I’m lucky, route climbing. My favorite kind of food is Thai, my favorite movie is Best In Show (or Bladerunner), and I love cetaceans.
So now that you know all you need to know about myself and the Take Hold (LV) movement, welcome and keep your eyes peeled for news and updates!
