Upon first inspection, I was dazzled. What’s not to love about a brand new pair of climbing pants to add to the rotation? Beyond the vibrant colors, the beefed up stitching, and an ultra sturdy fabric, these active jeans give off a hard to destroy kind of feel, definitely the John Rambo of stretchy pants.
The waist is high – similar to So iLL’s first run of leggings. I’m not a high waist kind of gal myself, so initially I was not loving the height. However, upon climbing and wearing them around (for almost a week straight), I fell in love. The active jeans exterminated the constant tug-of-war I’m used to playing with any other elastic-y bottoms, in an effort to try and keep the under in underwear while climbing, or bending over in any situation for that matter.
The front pockets are faux but the back pockets are operable. Keys and phone fit great, and the pocket material does not loose elasticity after loading them up, which is a big plus.
Overall, the fit is flattering, the cut is comfortable, construction is sturdy, and with half a dozen colors to choose from, the Active Jeans are now the first pick climbing/hiking/everyday pant in my closet.
